The Jaguar Animal Rescue Center in Playa Chiquita is a non-profit foundation to rehabilitate mistreated, injured and/or confiscated animals, which are then reintroduced to their natural habitat in protected areas.

JAGUAR is not a zoo, but rather a rescue, rehabilitation and reintroduction of wild species center with the end goal of releasing the animals back into the wild. Alongside, the Jaguar Rescue Center develops an educational program for the comunity that’s fundamental for everyone’s future.

At the Jaguar Rescue Center we work on a hands-on policy, it means direct contact with the animals is an important part of the work we do. Most of the animals have lost their mothers, or gone through traumatic experiences, and we think that direct contact is fundamental for the animals to build a strong defense mechanism to face their future successfully. We can say that during the time we have applied our method of reintroduction, the result has been very positive, confirming the success of our management.
